Racing Optics Technology: The "Track-Only" Exclusivity for Your Windshield

When driving on the track, the windshield is often the first casualty. A gravel trap, rubber marbles, or high-speed debris can mean an instant impact or crack.

To meet the extreme demands of "Track Days" and competitive racing, Design Covering offers a radical solution, directly inherited from Formula 1 and NASCAR: Racing Optics films (Tear-Offs).

Be aware, we are not talking about standard protection here, but a high-tech equipment piece with its own set of rules.

1. The "Tear-Off" Concept: Perfect Vision, Every Time

Unlike a standard protection film (Windshield PPF) which only has one life, Racing Optics technology relies on a patented multi-layer system.

  • The Concept: We install several layers of ultra-thin optical films stacked directly onto your windshield.

  • The Advantage: Is your windshield peppered with debris after an intense track session? Simply tear off the damaged top layer to instantly reveal a fresh, pristine layer underneath with perfect visibility.

  • Performance: This is the exact system professional drivers use to "clear" their visors or windshields in a split second.

2. Technical Focus: Why it's not PPF

We often get asked this question at the workshop. The difference lies in the material used.

  • Classic PPF (Bodywork): Is made of Polyurethane (TPU). It is soft, elastic, and self-healing, perfect for absorbing shocks on paint.

  • Racing Optics (Glass): Uses Optical Grade Polyester (PET). Unlike PPF, this material is more rigid and crystalline.

Why Polyester? It is the only material that allows for stacking 3 or 4 layers without creating blur or visual distortion. Its rigidity also allows the film to be peeled off cleanly without stretching. This ensures perfect vision, even at 300 km/h.

3. "Track Use Only": Radical Protection

It is important to clarify that this system is pure performance equipment.

Just as you switch to "Slick" tires to chase lap times, the Racing Optics system is designed specifically for closed-circuit use.

Due to its specific multi-layer construction (often 3 or 4 stacked layers), this device is not road legal. It is the ultimate tool to protect the glass of a Supercar, a GT3, or a race car during your track outings, exactly when the risk of breakage is highest.

4. Design Covering: Ultra-Exclusive Expertise in Europe

Installing a Racing Optics system cannot be improvised. It requires technical skill and precision far superior to standard window tinting or classic PPF to ensure zero visual distortion between the layers.

That is why access to this technology is restricted. At Design Covering, we are proud to be part of the elite:

We are one of the few certified Racing Optics installers in Europe. There are currently fewer than 10 certified centers on the entire continent, and we are one of them.

By entrusting us with your vehicle, you are guaranteed that this cutting-edge technology is installed according to the strictest standards of the American manufacturer.

Protect Your "Track" Asset

Don't risk breaking a windshield worth thousands of euros (often with long supply delays) during your next track day.
