Extra 330C of Melanie Astles

A leading figure in competitive aviation, Mélanie Astles has established herself as one of the most talented pilots on the international scene, excelling in high-level aerobatics, world championships, and spectacular aerial demonstrations.

To complement her image and elevate the appearance of her aircraft, we undertook the full decoration of her Extra 330C—a machine as demanding as it is precise.

This project, with a strong visual identity, aimed to create a dynamic, impactful, and immediately recognizable livery in flight. Each graphic element was designed and applied to follow the complex shapes of this aerobatic monoplane—an aircraft subjected to extreme aerodynamic and weather stresses.

Work carried out:

Creation and application of a full aircraft decoration using film, tailored to the acrobatic lines of the Extra 330C.
Design adjustments for contrast, directional forms, and speed zones to ensure a coherent appearance in motion.
Meticulous application on curved surfaces: fuselage, wings, and tail assembly.
Perfect alignment of motifs for seamless readability both in flight and on the ground.
Technical finishing to ensure optimal adhesion and durability under extreme pressure and temperature variations.

Result: This project embodies a unique blend of performance, identity, and precision, reflecting Mélanie Astles’ career. The decoration was conceived to enhance her aircraft visually and support her spectacular flying style.
